VAT and the payment total

EuniPay calculates VAT using the business profile, customer billing details, and the checks required for the payment. Customers should review the total before paying.

What the customer needs to do

  1. Select individual or business billing.
  2. Enter accurate billing details, including a VAT number when required.
  3. Review the payment currency, VAT, and total.
  4. Correct any highlighted information before continuing.

Business payments

Selecting Business does not by itself remove VAT. A domestic business payment may still include VAT.

An eligible cross-border EU business payment can use reverse charge, with no VAT collected on that payment, after the required VAT validation succeeds. If validation cannot be completed, resolve the issue before paying; do not treat a failed check as approval for zero VAT.

If the displayed total changes

Browsing prices may be estimates. The final checkout total reflects the current billing details and completed checks. If you change the customer details or the payment expires, review the new total before continuing.

Your choice of VAT-inclusive or VAT-added prices also affects how the total is presented. See Showing prices.

To try both calculations without taking a payment, use Calculate VAT and convert prices: a 10.00 EUR product shown in SEK, with VAT either added or already included.

After payment

The transaction and receipt keep the amounts and tax treatment used for that payment. Later profile or rate changes do not rewrite them.

See Payments and receipts to find the record, or Troubleshooting if a required check is blocking payment.
